Never Hide a Personal Chat

To keep a selected personal conversation in the list after a long period of inactivity, open its contact card, go to General, and turn on Never hide in Preferences.

Contact Card

The contact card brings a colleague's details and personal-chat actions together in one window.

Open it in any of these ways:

  • click a colleague's avatar in a message, participant list, address book, search result, or call;
  • click the personal chat title;
  • choose Show Profile from a personal chat's context menu.

The General section shows the person's details and any additional profile fields. You can copy their phone number and email address.

When you already have a personal chat with the person, the card also offers Notifications, Pinned, and Attachments. Use them to configure notifications for that conversation, jump to a pinned message, or find a shared file. If there is no personal chat yet, the card shows general information only.

Limitations

  • Only direct calls available in Contacts—public calls and Call Rooms require workspaces
  • Only Owners and Administrators can add users by email or create channels
  • Guests can only create chats from user cards in their invited channels
  • Workspace limits depend on your plan (see Workspace limits)
