info

Settings are stored locally and don't sync across devices. Camera, microphone, and speaker choices apply to all calls.

Advanced Microphone Settings

In Audio & Video, you can select your active microphone and adjust audio processing for calls.

The available options help improve voice quality in different environments:

  • Automatic microphone level control β€” YuChat adjusts your voice volume automatically, so other participants can hear you clearly without manual gain changes.
  • Echo cancellation β€” reduces echo that may appear when using speakers or a laptop's built-in microphone.
  • Noise suppression β€” reduces background noise such as keyboard typing, fans, or nearby conversations.
tip

If other participants hear echo or background noise, check these settings before or during a call in Audio & Video.

Highlight Your Own Messages

The Highlight your own messages option enables visual highlighting of your messages.

For details, see Messaging.

System "Do Not Disturb" Status Support (Focus Mode)

Activate the system "Do Not Disturb" mode in your operating system settings β€” the app automatically adapts notification settings.

When enabling mode in OS:

  • Notification sounds about messages, mentions are disabled
  • Incoming call sounds continue to work
  • All visual notifications work as usual
tip

You won't miss important calls, but can work without distracting message sounds.

    Or use Ctrl/⌘+,
